Eligible team members can receive up to $5,250 per calendar year to pursue advanced education courses directly related to their jobs at Mr. Cooper from an accredited learning organization.

What made you decide to continue your education?
I decided to continue my education in 2017. I made up my mind that I would become as marketable as possible to ensure higher consideration for positions I am qualified for.
How did your managers support you while you pursued further education?
My leadership team was very supportive, so much so that they were encouraging when I wanted to interview my offshore team for one of my research papers!
What advice do you have for team members interested in the tuition reimbursement benefit?
Don’t wait. Make time to invest in yourself. Find a degree plan that is of interest to you that will further your career. If you are technical, pursue IT. If you are personable, pursue marketing, social media, or HR. If you are good with numbers, finance or accounting may be a good fit.
How has this experience furthered your career at Mr. Cooper?
Since I started an MBA program, my salary has increased significantly. I feel that I have more training in communication and cultural diversity, leadership, negotiation, strategic development, and project management.
What do you enjoy most about Mr. Cooper?
Diversity and Inclusion—I love the Diversity and Inclusion mission at Mr. Cooper. I feel that the management team is fair, and from my experience, I have been encouraged to always be creative and bring ideas to the table on my team as well as in companywide engagements.
Caring—Mr. Cooper has made adjustments throughout the pandemic to meet team members’ individual needs, understanding that some people have gone through unprecedented tough times.
Culture—I have a management team that believes in me. Through the culture, they display professionalism, kindness, and set time aside for us to have one-on-one conversations. I feel comfortable to be expressive about what can be changed. Mr. Cooper is an experience, not just a job.

How has this experience furthered your career at Mr. Cooper?
I learned a lot from the courses I took and was able to apply skills in my current role that I wouldn’t have learned if I hadn’t. Advancing my education has made me a better manager!

I think that there are a ton of opportunities here. There are opportunities for advancement and opportunities to learn more.
