“As an avid outdoorsman and wildlife enthusiast, I feel very comfortable and welcome in nature being able to draw from our largely forgotten state of harmony with nature and things that run wild. Though I have enjoyed time in wilderness all over the world, I still feel most at home in East Africa. Straight out of college, I moved to the wilderness of Tanzania where I spent six months filming and photographing safaris. Time slowed, the instinct to check a cell phone vanished, and my instincts were attuned to the natural rhythms of the environment. I wrote every day, took thousands of photos and often look back on this as one of the happiest times of my life. This collage is a recollection of those journal entries, coupled with photographs from time spent in Africa over the last 10 years. Adventure, tribulation, danger and happiness, it is all there in ink and image.”
