“As a child in my home, music was a constant element of celebrations with family. My grandfather, Mose Morgan, played a significant part in that, always sitting outside on the porch playing his accordion or fiddle. He was inducted in the Cajun Music Hall of Fame in 1927 as a result of his contribution to the first French recording ever done outside his home state of Louisiana (in Dallas Texas). He played fiddle on that historic track called Allons’ a Lafayette, which means ‘let’s go back to Lafayette.’ This painting is inspired and dedicated to him.”
