Year-End Tax Statements: Here’s What You Need To Know

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

As the tax season begins, the Mr. Cooper team is here to help you start it off right. Each January, we provide our customers a year-end tax statement that summarizes key mortgage and tax information from the previous year and includes your IRS Form 1098. It may also be accompanied by a Form 1099, if necessary. Learn more on our Help Center’s Year-End Tax Statement page.

NOTE: Puerto Rico has state specific tax forms and Mr. Cooper reports directly to the government, as required.

How to access your year-end tax statement from Mr. Cooper

Typically, your year-end tax statement will be available online around the middle of January. Please note:

  • If you’re not signed up for Paperless, your statement will be mailed to you by January 31.
  • If your mortgage was transferred to Mr. Cooper from another lender, you may receive two year-end tax statements, one from each lender, or you may receive a combined year-end statement. Please refer to the dates listed on the year-end statement to determine if it covers the entire year.

To find your Mr. Cooper-provided year-end statements online, just navigate to the “Statements” section of your account once you’ve signed in. All available information—including your year-end tax statement—will display here when it’s available. To access your account via the Mr. Cooper mobile app, download it from Apple’s App Store or Google Play.
